New Names at KHAS Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences

New names have joined different departments of Kadir Has University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences. We are pleased to introduce our academics to you:

Dr. Aslı Aydın, Economics

Dr. Aslı Aydın received her BA from the Department of Business Administration at Bilkent University in 2005, her master’s degree from Ege University, Department of Economics, and her PhD from Hacettepe University, Department of Economics. After publishing her doctoral thesis on the effects of robotic advancements on employment, Aydın continues her post-doctoral academic studies in growth and development economics. Starting her career at HSBC Bank A.Ş., Dr. Aydın worked in various private and non-governmental organizations. She has lectured at Boğaziçi University, Kadir Has University, and Fenerbahçe University.

Dr. Ayşe Altan-Atalay, Psychology

Dr. Ayşe Altan-Atalay received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Boğaziçi University in 1999. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the same university in 2001. After working as a therapist in the field for a while, she started her PhD in clinical psychology at Middle East Technical University. In 2011, she received her PhD degree with her thesis titled “Looming vulnerability and perfectionism as mediating factors between parental bonding, social anxiety and depression”. Since 2010, she has lectured and conducted research at undergraduate and graduate levels at different universities (Boğaziçi, Yeditepe, Koç).

Dr. Coşku Çelik, Political Science and Public Administration

Dr. Coşku Çelik holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Administration from the Middle East Technical University. After completing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow and visiting assistant professor between 2019 and 2022 at York University, Canada. Her research interest lies at the intersection of social policy, labour studies, development studies, and feminist political economy. She has worked extensively on natural resource governance, rural development, and social reproduction in Turkey. Her current research investigates the structural links between food insecurity and rural women’s work in the Global South. Dr. Çelik has articles published in academic journals such as the Journal of Agrarian Change, Critical Sociology, Human Geography, and Capital and Class.

Dr. Oğuzhan Ceylan, Management Information Systems

After having graduated from Electrical Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University, Dr. Ceylan, got his Masters and PhD degrees from Computational Science and Engineering Department of the same university. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Tennessee, Knoxville for one year. He also worked as a research associate at University of Tennessee, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory for one year. Solutions of optimization problems, and their applications to smart grids, numerical methods and parallel computing are his main research areas.
